This project consists of the design, extension, alteration and refurbishment of an existing climbing and watersports centre. The brief was for a completely accessible activity centre for use by children and young adults and includes an abseiling tower for wheelchair users together with a 10m high climbing wall. The design concentrates on rationalising the existing 19th century buildings by linking them together with new community, climbing and canoeing buildings. By utilising the three different ground levels, accommodation was condensed and yet maximized within a tight footprint.
Jubilee Waterside Centre was awarded a Camden Design Award in 2004.
